I went 3 for 4 in the College Parlay last week and who’s to blame? M$U. Those douchetastic douche bags will never ever be a part of my picks ever again. At least not until next week when Penn State runs the table on them and I laugh and laugh and laugh all throughout the night. Hopefully this week Purdue will also kick their asses and keep them from a bowl game. PURDOOOOOIN’ IT!!!!!!!!! I hope to turn this one around by hitting either the possible 4 teamer or a crazy ass 10 game parlay. Who knows, the gambling gods should be on my side this week so I expect a payout.
A common trend towards the end of the year is that less points are being put up on the board. This hasn’t been proven and I have no facts to back it up, only speculation. 1. Teams are working towards locking down a respective bowl game or conference championship. 2. The defenses are more prepared and ready to stop the opposition (not in all cases, look at Eastern Mich, CAW!) 3. The weather gets shitter in the late fall/early winter. These 3 relevant facts are 50/50, but they push me towards possible Under bets in the NCAA. Let us kick it off with a Friday bet, shall we?
NCAA:
Temple-6 vs Akron (Friday): I’m not sure why this line is only -4, but Akron is only 2-7 and besides losing games close at home, they are no match for Temple. Temple is 5-0 in the MAC east, Akron is 1-4 with a win over Kent State? Don’t get cocky Akron, it’s a battle between Temple and the RAWRCATZ for top east supremacy, peace out babby! 31 -17 Temple
Indiana vs. Penn State (Under 55): it’s the 2ndto last game of the year and Penn State is looking to win out for a decent bowl game. Penn State defense w/ a chance of rain should secure the under bet. Jamie Mac won’t like what I have to say about this one so I will keep it PG. Indiana isn’t as goodt as Penn State and Jo Pa will take the foot off the gas early. 35 – 13 Penn State
Arkansas -13.5 vs. Troy: Ryan Mallett vs. a Troy team who hasn’t beaten anyone good. Who ya go? I will take BOOM MALLETTED! 45 – 17 Mallett
Iowa vs. Ohio $tate (Under 37.5): Iowa has a strong defense and are in a battle for the B10 title with Ohio State. One problem, Iowa isn’t going to cut it. They are missing their starting QB and RB. I’m not sure they will even score this Saturday but they sure won’t give up a boat load of points. OSU wins easy, but in a boring game: 24 – 10 O$U (this one makes me nervous)
NFL:
LOLIONS +16.5 @ Minnesota: I know it may seem like a stretch and you are all thinking “CHIPS WTF DUMB ASS!?!?! But here’s the skinny; The Lions, as bad as they are, play well against Minnesota. Since 2000, the Lions have lost every single game at Minnesota (They have beat them twice at home), but their average loss @ MN is 9.8 points. One loss by 32 points in 2007, I will rule out as a freak occurrence. The other 2 losses in double digits are by 13 and 10. At home, they lose by an average of 4.7 to make their over all losing margin in the last 19 games, 7.1 points, or 1 TD babby! Also take note, Brett Favraay has a bad hip, probably needs a replacement. Take the Lions to LOSE! But not how you think. LIONS 21 – Vikings 35
New Orleans – 14 @ St. Louis: I would take this if it was Saints -21 maybe even -24. The Saints are going to easily win this one. It will be a complete blowout. They are the New England Patriots from 2 years ago. New Orleans 45 – St. Louis 10
Cincinnati +7 @ Pittsburgh: The Bengals are tearing it up. LOLthlisberger will be looking for revenge this Sunday like he looks to sexually abuse unattractive hotel workers (allegedly). Hold up, the Bengals have a winning road record (3-0) and were on the HBO series, Hard Knocks, so they have a chance. The Steelers on the other hand are perfect at home (4-0), winning by an average of 9 pts per game. Cincy is goodt, but not goodt enough for this one. Pitt 31 – Cincy 27
Tampa Bay @ Miami OVER 43: The power of FLOOR – I – DA! Henne is going to connect for about 49 TD’s in this game. Or 2. Either way, it will hit the over because of Tampa’s bad defense. MIAMI #1 31 – Tampa Bay 21
